Juja Member of Parliament George Koimburi was discovered on Monday morning at a coffee plantation in Kiambu County, hours after reportedly being abducted by unknown individuals.

According to the legislator's family, Koimburi is currently receiving treatment at Plainsview Hospital near Ruiru town.

The circumstances surrounding his disappearance and reappearance remain unclear.

Witnesses say the MP was seized outside a church in Mugutha, Kiambu County, on Sunday.

His wife, Ann Koimburi, sustained injuries during the altercation.

Video footage circulating online shows Koimburi being forced into a silver Subaru Forester with civilian registration plates.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has distanced itself from the incident, denying any role in the abduction.

However, the agency confirmed that Koimburi has been under investigation since Friday for alleged involvement in land fraud and misappropriation of Constituency Development Funds (CDF).

Mrs. Koimburi has voiced her frustration over the authorities' handling of the matter, citing previous incidents where her husband’s phone and vehicle were confiscated during investigations, yet no updates were provided on his status.
