When Bay 'Blade' Lwal embraced E-Sports seven years ago through influence from his peers, he never knew that he would soon be smashing records left, right and centre.
The 23-year-old Kenyan of Sudanese heritage has so far lifted eight major tournaments in the country.
He has even stepped his game a notch higher, to international level, where he is now the reigning Nigeria Pro League champion.
Other trophies comfortably nestling in his glittering cabinet this season include the Pubg Mobile Campus Cup and the Steampunk Cup. He also prides himself as the reigning and three times Kenya Pro League champion.
In 2024, he bagged the Clatter of Clans Championship which was his second victory in the game.

His first ever glory came way back in 2022 when he smashed the Red Bull National eSports Championship.
Asked the secret to his winning ways, Lwal revealed: " I use the impressive Infinix GT 30 Pro gaming device, I love its weight, it gives me a whole new level of experience during online contests.
“The whole device package feels different from the others I have played with before, it's quite affordable and so good that other players even doubt it's affordability.
"The gaming flagship is built to carry with it all day full Frame Per Second performance, it is smooth and easy to control during championships, it's what has given me an edge over other opponents."
Lwal is focused not only to bring Kenya continental glory in the sport, but to take the country to global heights in the game.
His advice to people who want to embrace eSports is to kindly work hard and never give up on their dreams.
Just like Lwal, 20-year-old Nairobi International School Tournament champion, Poojan Patel says the GT 30 Pro gaming device has been his major deal in the many online contests he is currently bagging at will.
"I want to say this is a proper gadget that I have ever come across in my life. It has a higher refresh rate that enhances the game mode without any lagings.
“Its interface is so appealing and the charger is so powerful that it gets my phone full in just 45 minutes," Patel underlined.
Patel, who embraced eSports three years ago during one of the occasions of his regular internet combing spree, says he became serious with the sport when he realised there were so many Kenyan gamers online.
"Becoming part of the eSports family is the best decision I ever made in life, my dream is to one day represent the country on international platforms like the World Cup and the World Championships," Patel highlighted.
In order to be sharper in the sport, Patel does his practices every night, between 10.30 pm to 1.30am when there are many players online from across the globe.
Some of the areas he is currently improving on in his technique include the synergy- the ability to gel in team contests.
“I think the GT 30 Pro third-generation model gaming device is heaven sent to us, it’s definitely a trendy tech brand crafted for young gamers like me and Lwal, who are out to demand more in the game.
“It features a GT Trigger, Mechanical Light Waves, and AI Tools making it the most appropriate gaming gadget for global esports tournaments, that is wrapped in a futuristic cyber-mechanical design,” Patel highlighted.
