A Form Three girl has been killed by her boyfriend, while her Grade Six brother sustained serious injuries during the attack in Suba South Sub-county.
Alphins Opuodho, a student at St Joseph’s Olando Mixed Secondary School, was attacked in her parents’ home at Olando Village, Kibwer Sub-location, in Gwassi East Location.
According to the Assistant Chief of Kibwer Sub-location, Richard Okinyi, the assailant raided the house where the girl and her brother were sleeping and stabbed her in the back and head.
Residents who rushed to the scene after the family raised the alarm took her to Magunga Level Four Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
After stabbing the girl, the assailant turned on her younger brother, whom he stabbed in the hand, abdomen, and head.

The boy was rushed to Magunga Level Four Hospital, where he has been admitted for treatment.
Okinyi said the identity of the man had not been established, as the girl’s family did not know him.
It is suspected that the assailant had a disagreement with the girl a few hours before the incident.
“The suspected assailant was seen with the girl in the village on Tuesday evening. The man was her boyfriend, but only the girl knew him well because they had a secret relationship,” Okinyi said.
The assailant disappeared after committing the heinous act.
The administrator said they had liaised with police, who are searching for the suspect.
“We have liaised with police who are investigating the matter for justice to prevail,” Okinyi said.
The body was moved to St Camillus Hospital Mortuary in Sori Town, in the neighbouring Migori County, for a postmortem.
