Wazalendo Hockey Club on Sunday beat Parklands Sports Club 3-2 in a Kenya Hockey Union Men’s Premier League match played at the Dashmesh Stadium.
The win crowned a successful weekend for Wazalendo who began their season on the wrong footing as they secured their third win.
They suffered a 2-4 beating at the hands of United States International University of Africa (USIU-A) on match day one, but have since recovered to win three times and drawn once against defending champions Western Jaguars.
Wazalendo captain Griffin Okombe once again showed why he is the best to lead the team by netting another brace. On Saturday, he struck twice to help his side chalk a similar victory against KCA university.

After a dull first quarter, Okombe broke the deadlock in the 25th minute from a penalty stroke following a foul in the D, but Parklands responded three minutes later through a William Kirwa field goal to cancel their lead.
Okombe hit the board in the 35th minute to restore their advantage with Moses Munyeji making it 3-1 in the 39th. Allan Odongo pulled one back for Wanzalendo in the 48th minute even as they fought to draw level, but Wazalendo defended well to ensure they secured all the three points.
In another Men’s Premier League encounter, victory remained elusive to former champions Kenya Police as they played to a 2-2 draw against USIU-A. The law enforcers rallied from two goals down to dodge for third straight defeat and salvage a point from the encounter.
Sliders Hockey Club edged out USIU-A Spartans 2-1 to register their second win this season. Judy Abayo scored Spartans lone goal in the 10th minute but their lead would only last for five minutes as Daisy Okuku restored parity seconds into the second quarter.
Lucky Adhiambo converted a penalty corner in the 54th minute to secure maximum points for Sliders.
