Police in Naivasha are investigating a couple in connection with the mysterious death of their 13-year-old son, whose lifeless body was found outside their gate.
The family, from Maella village, claims that the teenager died after falling.
However, investigators have raised concerns about the injuries found on the top of the boy's head.
They believe he may have been struck by a sharp object, leading to his death, following an alleged confrontation with his stepfather.
The situation escalated after the teenager’s body was discovered just a few meters from their home, hours after he reportedly stole a flash drive from a local shop.

Naivasha DCIO Isaac Kiama stated that the parents claimed the boy was beaten by members of the public and later released.
The stepfather alleged that the boy fell while running away from home and was struck on the head by a stone, but the evidence suggests otherwise.
"The wound on his head appears to have been inflicted by a jembe (hoe), not a stone, as claimed. We are questioning the parents about this incident," Kiama said.
He also noted that they are awaiting a postmortem report to determine the actual cause of death.
"The family cannot afford the cost of a postmortem, so we are working with the sub-county hospital to see if the fees can be waived," he added.
In a related incident, a 25-year-old man took his own life in Karagita estate, Naivasha, amid a troubling rise in suicide cases, particularly among the youth in the area.
Friends discovered the body of the flower farm worker hanging in his home after he failed to report for work for two days.
The head of CID confirmed the incident, noting that the deceased left no suicide note, though he had previously threatened to end his life.
"His friends reported that he was depressed after a falling out with his wife, but we are taking no chances and will conduct a postmortem to determine the cause of death," he said.
