Gachagua slams Ruto, calls on US to probe stolen Minnesota funds

DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua has urged the US government to speed up investigations into individuals involved in money laundering, particularly those alleged to have stolen funds from Minnesota.
He claimed that top government officials benefited from the stolen money, which he says financed the 2022 elections.
Speaking at a church service in AIPCA Kiratina, Githunguri Constituency, Kiambu County, the former Deputy President criticised President William Ruto for pledging to fight drug trafficking, despite allegedly appointing two known drug barons to his Cabinet.

The former Deputy President also criticised Ruto for weakening education and health. “Free education under former President Kibaki benefited the population. In three years of Ruto’s rule, these gains have been eroded,” he said, citing children reassigned to distant schools as an example.
He highlighted economic hardships in Githunguri, noting dwindling tea bonuses, poor coffee prices, and bad roads affecting farmers. “During Arthur Magugu’s tenure, tea farming thrived and feeds were affordable. That is history now,” he said. He also dismissed Ruto’s “bottom-up” and “Singapore” economic agendas as illusory.
On politics, he said folding the mountain region’s party into UDA weakened bargaining power. He told MPs and MCAs to represent the region under DCP.
He urged Gen Z voters to register en masse, warning that abstaining is “like going to war unarmed.” He added that opposition leaders, would unite behind a single candidate to challenge Ruto.
