Tragedy as revelers electrocuted in club

Two men died while a woman sustained serious injuries after they were electrocuted at a nightclub in Rachuonyo South Sub-County on Saturday.
The Assistant Chief of Oyugis West Sub-Location, Warren Omollo, said the three stepped on an electric cable supplying power from the generator at a nightclub in Ragama estate, Oyugis Town.
“The incident occurred when they stepped on an electric cable that was not insulated. Two died on the spot,” Omollo said.
He identified one of the victims as Antipus Odongo.
Omollo said the woman was rushed to hospital for treatment.

Rachuonyo South Sub-county Police Commander Philemon Saera said they have summoned the club manager, the proprietor of the business and one more person.
“Investigations are going on. We have summoned the three for interrogations over the incident,” Saera said.
The bodies were removed to Rachuonyo South Sub County Hospital mortuary.
