Police probing two robberies in Nairobi, Machakos counties

Police are investigating a case of robbery with violence which happened at the Tigoi hospital gate in Vihiga County after a man was badly injured and robbed his money.
Walter Yaya told the police that he had ferried two pillion passengers to the hospital.
As they were getting off, they struck him on the head with a blunt object, leaving him unconscious.
The May 18, 2025, incident saw Yaya lose his his 125CC Boxer motorcycle registration number KMGQ 025S, Sh4,170 and a wallet that had his personal documents.

He was then rushed to Mungoma hospital by a good Samaritan, where he was treated and discharged.
Elsewhere, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are investigating an incident where a taxi driver was robbed by two people on a motorcycle.
According to a police report, Dennis Mutiso was travelling with Bernard Molacha, Sillas Mwendwa and Kennedy Mburu Kimani when their vehicle, a Toyota Voxy silver, developed mechanical problems at the Nairobi gate along the eastern bypass road in Nairobi.
Mutiso was accosted by the two people riding the motorcycle, whose registration number is not known and they robbed him of his mobile phone iPhone 16 promax valued at Sh186,000.
He reported the matter to police officers manning the gate roundabout.
The police report said that when officers visited the scene, they arrested a suspicious person, who pretended to be a rescuer, drawing their attention.
A search on the suspect, identified as Philip Mutiga, 19 years, revealed that he was carrying a pistol, Retay Falcon, with three 9mm rounds hidden in his right sock.
He was arrested and taken to the station for further investigation.
